Public speaking training for think tankers

Tuesday July 22 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Members – £295 + VAT         Non-members – £495 +VAT   (150 CPD points)

Do you want to speak more confidently? Do you want to understand more about nerves and how to control them? Do you want to find out more about how to craft and structure a message? Then this training is for you!

Our all-day training session takes you, with practical exercises and theory, through how to become an engaging speaker, how to structure your message to get your key points across and how to prepare for any speaking engagement, including Q&As. We also look in detail at how to deal with nerves.

It is a very practical session that will give you multiple opportunities to practise speaking in front of others. You will be asked to submit a topic you would like to speak on before the training and then practise with this topic throughout the day, to ensure that the course content is as useful as possible.

The day will be a mixture of exercises, group activities and theory with a heavy focus on interactive learning. You will leave the day with a clear idea of what good public speaking is and how to achieve it, will have practised speaking in public and had a chance to learn more about think tank specific speaking scenarios, including directing a Q&A.

You will be working with your peers from other think tanks and attendees will be encouraged to share best practice, build networks and learn from each other.
